Practice Rounds Tour
It’s every golfers dream to visit Augusta National, the Practice Rounds provide not only the opportunity to watch the world's best players prepare for the season opening major, but they also give you the truly unique opportunity to take your camera into the course. With no phones or cameras allowed during the tournament proper this is your only chance to come away with this memorable snaps.
Monday 2nd April
Arriving into Columbia Metropolitan Airport you will meet the Marriott Shuttle service and make the short 10 minute transfer over to the Columbia Marriott Hotel, checking in for a 6 nights on a twin sharing, bed and breakfast basis. The rest of the evening will be at your leisure to relax and acclimatize. You will be met at the hotel by Vision 4 Sport and we will be on hand throughout the week to ensure you have everything you need. Columbia boasts a large number of excellent bars and restaurants so be sure to ask for recommendations.
The hotel benefits greatly from a prime central location with numerous bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, please do ask for recommendations, the Brazilian steakhouse is always a popular choice on the first night.
Tuesday 3rd April
Breakfast will be available at the hotel from 06.30 and we will make an early departure for Augusta at 07.30. Augusta National really is a place of true beauty and you will have the day to enjoy and explore the course. It’s always a relaxed atmosphere at the beginning of the week with the players as happy to be on the course as the patrons. Be sure to visit the Masters shop, it has to be seen to be believed, and be sure to get those all-important photographs.
Once back in Columbia the evening will be at your leisure. With a whole host of excellent bars and restaurants please just ask for recommendations.
Wednesday 4th April
Breakfast will again be available from 06.30 before we head back to Augusta for the final practice round and the famous Par 3 Tournament. The par 3 contest has taken on an identity of its own over recent years and with Jack and Gary still taking part it’s always a great atmosphere.
Having seen the course for the first time yesterday you’ll no doubt have your favourite spots to watch players come through. Your badge will give you full access to all grandstands around the course ensuring you always have an excellent view point.
The evening will again be at your leisure back in Columbia.
Thursday 5th April
Today will see a more leisurely start to the day. Following breakfast we will depart for 18 holes of golf at Windermere Golf and Country Club. 25 minutes from the hotel, Windermere has a fantastic layout making the most of the lakes and tall pines that populate the area.
Following your round there will be time for a refreshing drink in the clubhouse as the live action from Augusta National begins at 15.00 on CBS. Following our return to the Marriott the evening will be at your leisure.
Friday 6th April
Another leisurely start to the day with breakfast being served from 06.00 – 10.00. Check-out is at 12 noon so depending on your return flight time it could be the ideal opportunity for some last minute shopping, Columbia Mall is always worth a visit.
